This look gives illusion of bigger and open eyes. Halo looks are majorly used to create spotlight effect and are most effective for round eyes. This technique enhances the natural shape of your eyes, giving them a bigger, rounder, and brighter appearance.

How to create: Apply dark shade at inner and outer edges of eyelid and then apply light color shade in the middle. You can also apply shimmer or glitter on light area and add thin layer of eyeliner and mascara.

  • Cat-eye makeup

It is a classic timeless technique which can be tricky to create. It mimics cat’s eye and involves extending eyeliner beyond the outer corner of the eye. In ancient Egypt, people use to mimic cat eye liner for warding evil spirits. This look can be created by winging or creating eyeshadow effect by using liquid eyeline/eyeshadow/eyeliner pencil or gel liner. It is surely not one-size-fits-all kind of makeup look.

How to create: Draw thin line along the upper lash line, and try extending the line outwards diagonally. You can start with outer corner of the eye and with one quick, fluid motion, flick your liner towards the tail pf your brow to create the car-eye wing. Create the second line towards corner of eye & fill triangle with the liner.

  • Nude eyes

This look will provide no-makeup look and is also one of the trending looks. It matches with bold red lipsticks and can be teamed up with other dramatic eye looks as well. The best colors to use are straight up brown/ cool light brown and warm light brown. This look is a great form of makeup for the beginners as it is easy to create and looks beautiful on most skin tones. The colors blend seamlessly with skin & provides natural effect.

How to create: Use lightest eyeshadow on eyelids and then apply a darker shade over the crease. Blend the colors perfectly. Make sure to use a shade of brown to highlight the crease and complete the look with a thin eyeliner.

Tips to elevate the makeup look:

  1. To start with prime the eyelids by applying base, it makes skin smooth for easy blending. To make the colors pop, eye primer or concealer can be used.
  2. Make sure to apply transition shade to create the perfect crease.
  3. For everyday makeup looks light shades of eyeshadows are preferrable and for the events darker shades can be mixed to enhance the look.
  4. Add depth of color more towards outer corner and cover the last one-third part of the eyes.
