How to select your makeup foundation?

The first thing to know is your skin type but most people get confused if they have oily or dry especially if they are not following any skin routine. For example if you have oily skin first use oil control moisturizer, don’t forget to apply toner and then analyze your skin and undertone. Know more about CTM, foundations for oily skin. You must also know how to find the right foundation shade for your skin, the right eye shadows, and correct way of face contouring.

Your undertone is something that is naturally ingrained in a person and doesn’t change with time. There are mainly 3 categories- cool, warm and neutral. Cool includes pinkish or reddish tone while warm includes yellowish and brownish tones. When both undertones are present there it’s neutral tones. Indians mostly have a yellow undertone.

Different foundations come on the basis of undertones and skin types:

  • If you have dry skin use liquid , stick foundation and hydrating powder
  • If you have oily skin use oil free liquid and powder foundation, use powders that absorb oil like mineral base
  • If you have combination skin use cream and powder foundation
  • Always use primer before makeup, blush and highlighter can be used before and after makeup
